I've tried what you said but it didn't work for me. I still get the same message when I try to open a office file from the network with those options. I found out when I open Excel with Administrator rights, I can open office files from the network drive without any problems or messages.

I made this user administrator on this laptop, even when I added an local account with administrator rights this problem still occurs. It seems that the issue might be related to the permission set for the specific computer.
