Was it scary, no. As I played on I saw the ghosts and thought, "Huh, their noses look like a pug's nose".

Then it was funny for a little bit. As for the child abuse that another reviewer wrote about, it is not hardcore or anything like that. If you ever watched shows about haunted hospitals and asylums where they housed children I can tell you this game is not even close in comparison.

The game talks about it once or twice and after a while I forgot about it because I was wrapped up in what Rose was doing, how she was feeling, and the other characters in the story. So get it, don't get it, I say try the demo. Finished it within the one-hour-free trial, which is why I gave it an OK rating for difficulty level.

I kept looking for the sequel, and then gave up after a year or so. I finally found it, and I'm downloading it and going to play it now. True that it's not for sensitive people because it can be perceived as disturbing. Not too far from the truth in many real-life situations. I love spooky horror games and have played the sequel to this game as well "Redrum Time Lies". That is even creepier and even more fun! There are no collectables, no gimmicks like the new games have, it does however make up for it with the story in a big way.

My favourite games series of all time for horror is the "True Fear-Forsaken Souls" and its sequel hard to find I played the first two in the series and many of us are waiting for the final chapter, it is a trilogy and a superb one at that.

So in the mean time, I don't mind amusing myself with this little "Redrum" gem and its sequel.
